Remind Your Parents To Check On Their 401k

Posted: October 10, 2008 in Economy

If your parents have any type of long-term investments, be sure to remind them to check on them. DO NOT TELL THEM TO PULL IT OUT! Yes, the market looks bad now, but based on past history the market will eventually rally back.

If you do not have a financial adviser (Cousin Blu doesn’t count), get one and ask them for some practical advice regarding 401k investments in the current market. If things need to be moved around, they will be the best folks to ask. I called my mom and she is checking on her 401k today.

The days of just sitting on your retirement and expecting to have a bundle of cash waiting for you are over.
