Barney Frank Says Race a Factor in Subprime Blame Game
Jake Tapper

The Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., yesterday said Republicans are misplacing blame when they target Democrats’ efforts to expand affordable housing — and Frank alleged there was a racial component to the criticism.

“They get to take things out on poor people,” Frank said at a mortgage foreclosure symposium, as reported by the Associated Press’s Glenn Johnson. “Let’s be honest: The fact that some of the poor people are black doesn’t hurt them either, from their standpoint. This is an effort, I believe, to appeal to a kind of anger in people.” (more…)

No Barney, the problem lies with you and every other politician who rejected tougher regulations on the Fannie/Freddie piggybank. How dare you use minorities as your personal shield to cover up your steaming pile of crap in this situation. Remember, when banks did not loan money to high-risk customers, they were considered ‘racist’. They issued the loans and now they are still considered racist. Damned if you do…

Black people did not start this current economic mess. Socialist policies that suggested home ownership was a RIGHT, regardless of credit worthiness is what started this mess. What started as a program targeting minorities expanded into something where folks of all races and economic levels eagerly participated.

“And we basically have to tell people who want to make mortgage loans something terribly radical: Do not lend money to people who can’t pay it back.” (Barney Frank, 8/25/08 CNN Money)

Read the whole thing. Frank just lynched himself with his own words.

Well according to some of the reports that I have heard race did play a factor in the sense that various members of Congress along with activist groups like ACORN put pressure on lending institutions to take on questionable loans (sub prime) or be tarred in the media as racist. And that this was a misguided attempt at social engineering by the Democratic Party. Sounds plausible in light of the fact that this type of extortion has been a staple of Jesse Jackson”s arsenal since he learned that he could get a favorable response of guilt from whites that tranlated into dollars for his coffers. As a person of color it aggrevates me to know that these constant cries of racism are primarily inspired by decietfullness! Black people have learned that they can put a guilt trip on inexplicably gullible white people by constantly whining about a high level of prejudice that is non-existent,ergo,they are then, hopefully, able to collect money or assorted other goodies. There is no doubt that there are still those among us who bear ill will towards black people but there is absolutely nothing that is hindering blacks from being successful but themselves!
