Oprah’s Prerogative

Posted: September 6, 2008 in Politics

Real quick–

First things first–It’s her show and she can host whomever she wishes. If Harpo becomes a tax-payer funded subsidiary of government, then that would change everything.

From the mouth of Ohhhh-prah:

“The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”

Also from Oprah’s website

“Today, Senator Obama’s not only one of Oprah’s representatives in the United States Senate, she says he’s also her favorite senator!” (source)

Look, Oprah is going to do just what she wants. However, she has yet to prove that she is bona fide kingmaker in the world of politics. So pressuring her to have Palin on the show is just a waste of time. Sarah Palin’ speech drew about 1 million less that the Democratic FRONTRUNNER. The RNC had more viewers than the DNC on fewer stations. And folks are worried about sitting next to Oprah?
