Moving The Site…Again

Posted: December 7, 2008 in Uncategorized

UPDATE: Site has been transferred to new hosting company. Blackinformant.com is now active.

This site (Blackinformant.wordpress.com) will remain online for at least a week. However, all new postings will appear over at Blackinformant.com.

I decided to go with the beta version of 2.7. So consider everything below now in play.

In the meantime, the template for blackinformant.com will be changing a lot over the next couple of days while I decide on a new layout.

=====

I am looking into accepting advertising on this site. Unfortunately, WordPress.com does not allow advertising, so I’m packing up my bags and moving elsewhere.

For all of you old heads out there, continue to use blackinformant.com. You will see a short period where the domain is either down or looks different. Don’t worry, the domain name is just propagating to the new server.

SITE HAS BEEN MOVED

For you new jacks, I will keep blackinformant.wordpress.com up for about a week. During that time, all new posts will appear only at blackinformant.com.

As always, thank you for your readership.

Conveniently Forgetting Ray Nagin

Posted: November 24, 2008 in Uncategorized

zz4737ad1bA few years ago, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin became the symbol of Federal government’s neglect on the local level (never supposed to work that way in the first place, but I digress). Today, both he and his city have become an afterthought to many of his supporters and haters during the days of Katrina.

Like I have said many times in the past, replace Nagin with a klan member from the local KKK office and folks outside that city would actually care.
===

The Trouble with Ray Nagin (Details magazine)

“New Orleans’ youthful, outspoken mayor grabbed the national spotlight after Hurricane Katrina and government incompetence conspired to destroy his city. Three years and another hurricane later he’s facing a different flood—of crime, corruption, and scandal—and this time there’s no FEMA to blame.” (more…)

DIVERSIFY!! Or Else…

zz35f90a13I guess this what you do when the “tolerance” programs don’t work.

White powder sent to Mormon temples in Utah, LA

LOS ANGELES – (AP) Letters containing a suspicious white powder were sent Thursday to Mormon temples in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City that were the sites of protests against the church’s support of California’s gay marriage ban.

The temple in the Westwood area of Los Angeles was evacuated before a hazardous materials crew determined the envelope’s contents were not toxic, said FBI spokesman Jason Pack. (more…)

More examples of tolerance~

At Mount Hope Church in Michigan, a radical homosexual group disrupted an evangelical church service last Sunday. The activists rushed the pulpit, throwing condoms and buckets of glitter, using noisemakers and megaphones to scream at churchgoers and frighten children. Women ran to the pulpit and began to kiss; others shouted, “Jesus was gay!” Protests erupted outside Mormon temples in Utah and Seattle to protest the church’s support for the California marriage amendment.

Three hundred gay activists picketed outside Pastor Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church in Orange County, California, in protest of the pastor’s support for Prop. 8. Other large protests were held in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Several arrests were made at rallies across California.

In perhaps the most hideous response, an elderly woman holding a cross to show her support for the California marriage amendment was attacked by an angry mob of protestors at a same-sex marriage protest. The 69-year-old woman’s cross was torn from her hands, trampled on and destroyed by the crazed protestors. Police are considering pressing assault charges. (more…)

And more~

“Already, high-profile Sacramento theater director Scott Eckern, who donated to the Yes on 8 campaign, resigned his job of 25 years after opponents threatened to boycott the theater. A host of businesses, ranging from restaurants to car dealers, have been targeted by boycotts after their owners’ or employees’ names appeared on pro-8 donor lists. And in workplaces around the state, employers and employees are watching their backs.” (more…)

You know its interesting how some folks pick and chose the history they want to fit into their little narrative.

The gay movement in this country has long compared themselves to how Blacks were treated during the civil rights era. However, when they don’t get their way, they go off on everybody. This is a far cry from how Blacks responded after going through slavery and Jim Crow.

Don’t insult my history!!

Exit poll: Black voters back Calif. marriage ban
By MARCUS WOHLSEN, Associated Press Writer

California’s black and Latino voters, who turned out in droves for Barack Obama, provided key support for a state ban on same-sex marriage. Christian, married and older voters also helped give the measure the winning edge, according to exit polls for The Associated Press. (more…)

The next time some liberal wants to lecture you on how conservatives need to reinvent themselves and become more open-minded, show them this.

Skip it! They’ll still come up with a “rationalization” for this as well.

Joaquin Breaks

I first noticed Joaquin Phoenix back when he co-stared in the movie “Gladiator” (one of my all-time favorite flicks). In that role he played a emperor who was a closet punk who was more consumed about his legacy than the state of the Roman empire. I thought he did a pretty good job with that role, however there was nothing too memorable about it to me. Same goes for his role in the film “The Village”.

However, Phoenix gained much respect from me when I recently saw him in the movie “We Own The Night”. For this role, he transformed himself to a New York tawkin’ city slicker who found himself right in the middle of high-rollin’ gang life in that city. He played the part so well I had to keep reminding myself it was really him. I have yet to see “Walk The Line”, but I heard he kicked butt in that film as well (I’m not a country music fan which is why I am dragging myself to watch this film, however I do enjoy a good story. I did the same thing leading up to watching the John Denver flick “Take Me Home”. Once I saw it, I have been looking to watch it again ever since.)

Well it appears that Phoenix is giving up on acting to pursue other interests. Good for him.
