Something I have heard over the years from Black folks who are “making it”. One brutha who is a regional manager of a major US company and is doing quite well just told me that America is the most racist country on the planet. And if Obama looses this election, it will prove it.
When I saw these pictures yesterday, all I could do is shake my head.

People making comments like this should spend some “quality time” in Sudan, or get a white buddy to try and open up a farm in Zimbabwe.
Why do you hold up two “celebs” as the ideal of making it in America today. VERY BAD comparison to the guys that are actually trying to make it in the business and corporate world in America.
An NFL player might tell you that everything in America is just great but the black businessman trying to acquire a city contract in NYC will tell you JUST HOW RACIST AMERICA is, as they watch how members of other ethnic groups have UNFAIR control over many sectors of business community.

America likes Black Atheletes and Actors. They are individuals that do NOT compete against the majority of white america interests. What America does NOT want is a blackman starting up a company even to provide services within our community because white folks are already generating great wealth doing so for US.
Only the less enlightened negros around us will hold up a celeb as the picture of Black sucess in the USA. Damn, as if blacks have NOT always made a great deal of money entertaining whites!

Actually Black entrepreneurs have done quite well in this country. In many instances, we have outperformed Whites in our rate of starting new businesses.

Uhhh, one of the biggest complaints from Blacks in the industry is the fact that because Whites control much of the game, they (Blacks) have a hard time getting their projects green lighted. While I believe that there is some truth to that, Will Smith has just been declared Hollywood’s highest paid actor at $80 million. This proves that while it may be difficult in industries such as the entertainment industry for some Blacks, it is certainly not impossible for Blacks to make gains. Publications like Black Enterprise has been tracking successful Blacks in this country for years proving again the falsehood that a Black man (or woman) cannot make it in this country.
Damn, as if blacks have NOT always made a great deal of money entertaining whites!
Check your history and you will see a couple of things: A) Black entertainers many times got the short end of the stick in terms of pay in the entertainment industry until recent years. B) Black entertainers also entertain BLACK folks.

One of my grandmothers was a vaudville performer as were her parents. None became wealthy and famous but they nonetheless made out very well back in the days. My grandmother would admit without problem that the “big” money was always made performing in the “Whites Only” venues. As black entertainers they were paid more than the overwhelming majority of rank and file blacks outside of a relatively few physicians and business owners.
My wife is also a singer/entertainer and she also gets paid a nice bit of coin to perform for white folks (the majority of the gigs she does). Unfortunately there are not that many black folks capable or willing to pay for a live band at their weddings/ functions.
As an artist/ singer my wife’s talent (as is that of the many other blacks in this business) is greatly respected and folks are willing to pay for it. If you are talented it is easy to “get a check”! To try and break into the business side of this industry is NOT so easy for black folks. Getting the good high-paying gigs requires some serious connections in the country-club set that most black folks lack.
See, just like Will Smith you can only do one job at a time! The real money is made by booking out serveral jobs at once and taking a cut for each band you book. Notice that there are no black owned/ run movie studios or major sports franchises………… were the real money is being made.
See while the individual black actor can make a bundle he is not capable of calling the shots that will allow blacks to get all of those other good jobs like the secetary in hollywood that makes $60,000.
It is a given that some black will make it big in business. that is not the problem. The problem that many, many black business people speak about it that the situations is still rigged and unfair.
In a nutshell it is easier for a blackman to make it as a actor in Hollywood than it is for a blackman to open up a hardware store in many parts of the USA.
I get tired of these false claims of racism. Whenever a Black person fails, it is not their fault. It is racism. It is like get over it already. We have come so far and achieved so much but no one knows their history. Oh they know King and Malcolm X but ask them who Garrett Augustus Morgan (inventor of the traffic light and gas mask among other things), Patricia E. Bath (inventor of laser eye surgery and the first Black female doctor to get a medical patent) or Elijah McCoy (invented steam lubricating devices for ferries. And is where we get the term the Real McCoy) are and they will look at you with a blank expression. They love their Nikes but don’t know without Jan Ernst Matzeliger, a Black Dutchman who invented the shoe lasting machine, there would be no Nikes! They think to be Black you have to be a dunderhead. Well you know what maybe you (and I mean you in a general sense not specifically the author of this site) come from ignorant stock but I don’t! I come from Kings, Queens, geniuses and people of character and strength. But Blacks today don’t want people like that to emulate, they want thugs and whores. It is despicable. Blacks deserve better.
