After 8 years of marriage and two kids, we are finally able to take a REAL vacation (for our parents the wait was even longer–don’t trip Duane 
). Next week we will be going on our first cruise in Hawaii and its smaller islands. We initially wanted to go to the Caribbean, but flying across country with kids and having to get on another plane seemed to be a bit much. As you could imagine, blogging will be the last thing on my mind all of next week, so expect very little (if any) activity here between now and the end of next week.
In the meantime, if any of you have ever been on a cruise or been to Hawaii please give some advice. What are the best beaches, best sites, best food, places to avoid, etc.
1st of all take medication. (sea sick pills, Pepto-Bismol, benadryl (sp) , cold medicine, aspirin) the last thing you want is to be sick on a cruise ship. Also keep your stomach full it helps a lot with sea sickness. Be careful not to each to much citrus. By the end of my 1st cruise I literally had burned the roof of my mouth with all the pineapple. Relax have fun and take lots of pictures. And if you blog even one day while on vacation i will hunt you down and whip you.

I was watching something on the Travel channel about a Mediterranean cruise that started in Italy. Man, I think that will be our next big trip! That show with Samantha (I cannot remember the actual name of the show) is one of my favorites.
Okay, last question. Did you have your kids during these trips? And if so, were they satisfied with the activities geared toward them?
