I do not follow the rodeo circuit, but I found this story to be pretty amazing. It never ceases to amaze me how black folk rule just about every sport out there. I recently read a book entitled “The Black West” by William Loren Katz (I highly recommend this book. You will be very suprised how much black people contributed to the construction of the American West–we were more than just slaves, ya’ll!). Anyway, did you know that black cowboys made up about 1/3 of all cowboys (Yo, John Wayne, what aren’t there any brothas on the wall?)?
